Kalviyogi Book OS (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a digital bookshelf and reading product operated by 369 Tesla Edunivra Pvt Ltd under the Kalviyogi education ecosystem. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you use our website, Progressive Web App (PWA), or Android app, and how we use it.

1. Who we are
369 Tesla Edunivra Pvt Ltd provides digital learning tools for students and institutions in India. Kalviyogi Book OS lets learners read study books issued by their school, college, coaching centre, or administrator, with progress sync, bookmarks, and optional offline downloads.
2. Information we collect
- Account details — name, email address, and optional mobile number when you register or when an administrator creates your account. Passwords are stored only as a secure one-way hash; we never store your password in plain text.
- Reading activity — books opened, last page read, reading progress, bookmarks, and short notes you save. This powers “Continue reading” and study tracking.
- Membership status — whether your account is Free or Premium, and any Premium access request you submit (so administrators can approve or reject it).
- Preferences — reading settings you choose (theme, page view, image quality, sound), stored on our servers and/or on your device.
- Device & technical data — IP address, browser or app type, device type, and request timestamps in server logs, used for security and troubleshooting.
- On-device storage — if you download books for offline use, page images may be stored in your browser or app cache on that device only.
3. How we use your information
- To create and secure your account, and to keep you signed in.
- To deliver books you are allowed to read and to restore your place across sessions.
- To provide bookmarks, notes, notifications inside the app, and Premium access when approved.
- To let authorised administrators manage students, books, and reading progress for their institution.
- To protect licensed study material (including optional personal watermarks on page images).
- To improve reliability, fix bugs, and prevent abuse or unauthorised access.
4. Legal basis (where applicable)
We process your information to provide the reading service you (or your institution) asked for, to meet our legitimate interest in securing the platform and protecting content, and where required to comply with applicable law in India.
5. What we do not do
- We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
- We do not show third-party advertising inside the reading app.
- We do not build advertising profiles or track you across unrelated apps or websites.
- We do not request access to your contacts, camera, microphone, or precise location.
6. Sharing of information
We share personal information only when needed:
- Your institution’s administrators / staff — so they can issue books, support your account, and review study progress.
- Service providers — hosting or email delivery partners who process data only on our instructions (for example, sending a password-reset email).

7. Cookies and local storage
We use essential cookies or similar storage for login sessions and security. The app also uses local storage on your device for reading preferences and optional offline page caches. You can clear offline downloads from the Downloads screen and clear site data in your browser or app settings.
8. Android app permissions
The Android app needs Internet access to load your library and pages from our servers. It may keep the screen awake while you read (if you enable that option). It does not require contacts, camera, microphone, SMS, or location permission for normal reading.
9. Content protection & watermarks
Books and page images are licensed study material. Depending on administrator settings, pages may show a watermark with your name and/or email so leaked copies can be traced. Access to protected files is checked for signed-in users with the right permissions.
10. Data retention
We keep account and reading data while your account remains active and as needed for the institution that issued your access. Server logs are kept for a limited period for security. Offline caches remain on your device until you remove them or clear app/browser storage.
11. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request:
- Access to the personal data we hold about you
- Correction of inaccurate details (you can also update name/mobile in Profile)
- Deletion of your account and associated personal data
- A copy of your data in a commonly used format where feasible

12. Children’s privacy
Kalviyogi Book OS is intended for students using material issued by their school, college, or coaching institution. We collect only what is needed to provide that access. If you believe a child’s information was collected without appropriate consent, contact us and we will review and remove it where appropriate.
13. Security
We use HTTPS where configured, hashed passwords, session controls, and access checks on protected book files. No online service can guarantee absolute security; please keep your password private and sign out on shared devices.
14. International users
Our primary operations and servers are oriented toward users in India. If you access the service from another country, your information may be processed in India.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
